    cross member frame mounts turbo400

after disassembling my 67 gs 400. I found 1 1/2 angle iron welded forward on the frame used as cross member mounts. (one of the originals is still attached).this tells me it's NOT the stock transmission I pulled out. It also tells me the drive shaft is not stock either.
my engine is a 72 455 bbb. wildcat motor I'm told. I would like to use the stock mounts. should I find 67 400 turbo trans and drive shaft?
Also there are 4 holes drilled into the original mounts. are there rubber mounts that bolt on there? my frame is boxed in.
gs 400 080.jpgI cut the angle iron off and ground the frame clean of welds(they weren't welded in good) . I can make a replica factory mount for the other side. and weld it in clean. I think it's the right thing to do but I guess i'm looking for confirmation.

Its a 400 turbo, but a short shaft is my guess. i don't know a lot about them but this one by the tag from what i remember is a 73'. I will look again to confirm.

The 67 GS had a short shaft ST400. Maybe it has the wrong crossmember?

That's good to know. The cross member looks like what I've seen on Google images. doesn't mean it's right. I will take a photo and post it. I'm still on a learning curve with the buick. thanks

The angle iron could have been from the factory as they were welded badly from the factory, but they held up to most of the abuse.

here are the pics of cross member and trans. can't really make out the tag number but it's 78

OK, the trans is the right length. The crossmember is not from a 67 GS, and it looks more like something from the later G-bodies. The 67 mount is over top of the crossmember not behind it. Bob, our administrator here, has a 67 GS. He might be able to take a picture or two of it if you were to ask him. My parts/possible restorer 67 GS is 60 miles from here so I can't help you with a picture. My racer 67 is finally here, but nothing is stock under that car.
