I have replaced the heat control unit in my 65 Riv 3 times and it still will not work. If I connect the "Black" main vac line to the "Red" heat control line by hand I have heat but on the connections zippo. Today I drilled one out and I machined the both surfaces flat made a new post reassembled and I bench tested and it still leaks vacuum. I can see there is a very small cut out near the center to allow vac air out but I don't know why. That all said 1st question does anyone have a guide that actually goes beyond the service manual showing each "colored wire" and what port number its supposed to be at? Like #1 is black wire main vacuum #5 "red wire" from heater control valve?
The 2nd question is does anyone understand what the hecks going on in that valve anyway? I see all the port holes and cuts outs and I understand once you move the heat control handle its supposed to go to the correct port hole but its always leaking vacuum! HELP? Jim
