Find Vin no. on the frame Buick Super Riviera 53

I wonder where i can find the Vin no. on the frame
i got a Buick Super Riviera 53 / Model 56

I found Vin. on the frame , i wonder why it is seven digits on the frame
I have eight on the Vin. Tag

I would think that it would be 8 digits and match the serial number tag, but maybe they left off the first digit which indicates what plant it was built at.
