i don't know what that is. it doesn't look like a normal VIN or EIN. those would start with a '4' for Buick.

I have a buick 3.8 even fire engine. Engine 3br404229 does anybody have any info. Like what year.

I agree with Bob, probably not from a Buick. If it were decoded like a Buick EIN it would decode as follows:
3BR404229
3 = Oldsmobile
B = 1981
R = build plant, Arlington TX
404229 = sequential number; for Buick, a number in this range would be for a B or C body car
