    Canadian Buick codes for 1958 cars.

    I have a 1958 Buick Special, I can find any references for the codes on the car.
    Style-4411
    body-411873
    paint-4229
    trim-431
    bso-357
    sin number is 8441112434
    engine-b208874
    i know that the engine is original, numbers match. I want to know about the rest of the numbers. Also how many of these cars we're make with these options and this colour. also where is was made in Canada.

    Your car was built at Oshawa, ON

    8441112434

    8 = 1958
    4 = Buick
    4 = Series 40 (Special)
    11 = 2-door sedan
    12434 = sequential number

    B208874

    B = V8 364 2V
    208874 = sequential number, range was 198,301 211,003 for 1958

    The prefix 9 incidates automatic transmission, so B9 or 9B would be for an auto trans car and just B would be for a manual trans car. Does your car have a manual transmission?

    Style-4411 (Same as US built model 48)
    4 = Buick
    4 = Series 40 (Special)
    11 = 2-door sedan

    body-411873 = sequential body number

    paint-4229
    4 = Buick
    2 = Two-tone
    29 = Dover White and Redwood Copper Metallic

    Trim 431 = Grey Pattern Cloth and White Cordaveen

    bso (body specific options)
    357 = Two-tone Paint

    GM of Canada Vintage Vehicle Services can tell you how many 4411's were built in Canada for a fee, but I don't think they have production numbers for options and colors. See their website:

    Thanks

    Thank you for all the info, yes the car is a 3 speed manual and all the info you given me makes my car 100% original. Now I need to find out how many were made withe the 3 speed manual option. US once produced 3% of the 1958 models with the 3 speed. I wonder if the Canada plant numbers were the same.
