    ohms for 1940 buick sending unit

    i have a 1940 straight 8 buis cpe that i replaced the gas tank with a after market.i am buying a aftermarket sending unit and need to know the ohms for the factory gas gauge.thanks ted(563 568 1182)

    The tank sending unit is 30 ohms.

    is that 0 to 30 and 1940 spec?thanks for the quick reply.ted

    Yes, that's 0 ohms empty and 30 ohms full. This was standard for all GM until about 1965, when it went to 90 ohms.
