    1951 Buick 12 Volt to 6 Volt?

    Hey Guys!
Just got myself a 51 Buick Super (Hardtop Coupe)! It was described as a 12 V Convert. But as i checked today most of the things have simply been disconnected (Radio, Vent, Gas Indicator etc...). As im afraid of simply reconnecting it to the 12 V battery id like to know what should be done to be able to operate those things again.
Ive attached a picture. Please help me

    best regards

In your pic I can see several non-stock components and some modified wiring. From here, it is impossible for me to tell what has been done to the car. If those particular items are working now, and you feel yourself to be electrically challenged, I would say either leave them alone or else seek professional help.

As for the disconnected items you mentioned, two of them aren't too difficult to deal with.
Fuel gauge - use a solid state voltage reducer sold specifically for the purpose, such as Runtz.

Heater motor - a plain resistor will do, of the type shown on the same page. You don't have to get any of these products from Speedway, as quite a few vendors sell equivalent items.
Radio - If yours is a factory installed radio (tube type, with a vibrator power supply), leave it to a professional who specializes in converting this type. They are far too scarce and valuable to play around with if you don't know exactly what you are doing.

I just now read in your other post that you are in Austria. There is no need to order electrical parts like these from the US. They are all universal and non-car-specific. Functional equivalents should definitely be available locally and will save you a huge amount in shipping costs.
