Core support cross braces

What cars got the core support cross braces found on some of the '64 and '65 Special/Skylark cars. My non air conditioned 300 V8 convert did not come with the braces while other cars have them. Also, some of the braces are straight and others have a gentle radius bend on the lower end (may be to clear the AC condenser). Some forum posts believe that convertibles and GS cars had them. Yesterday we saw a '64 Special 4 door sedan, V6 auto parts car that had the braces. The '64 assembly manual shows the cross brace installation in the front body build section 13. Thanks for any info.
