Oil priming after a long sitting

Hello, I got a '53 Special that's been sitting since '67. I want to prime the system before I try to see if it is stuck. What direction does the distributor turn, CW or CCW? The oil in the pan looks like new, I will change it before I do anything. The car has an automatic transmission. Thank you, David

    CCW.
I think the Oil looks good because all the Dirt Particle had sinking down to the Bottom .
I would clean out the Oil Pan,Oilpump Strainer, Oilfilter Housing and refill all with fresh Oil before first starting/lpriming.

    drop pan

drop the pan and inspect. bar engine over by hand. pull rocker cover off and see when oil starts through the rocker shaft to the push tubes. might even shoot a little oil down the spark plug holes while barring engine over.
    52 Special.

If you have a pressure tank, attach it with a hose to the main oil pressure galley on the side of the engine. Pour oil in the tank and pressurize the tank to 30 pounds or so. Crank the engine over by hand. Watch for oil to appear at important points. I skipped a lot of steps but I am sure the general idea is clear and you can make the idea come to life with the equipment you have available. This is a MacGiver type of thing.
