    Trunk lid interchange question

Can anyone tell me what the differences are in the trunk lids, and rear bumpers between the 1967-1969 model years. and why they will not interchange? Basically I would like to know the dimensions of the trunk lids in these years, to see where the difference is

I had someone offer me a deck lid, off of a 1971 Olds 88, they said it would interchange. I don't think it will

many junk yards have a "Hollanders Interchange Manual". check with them to see.

there are many, MANY things that WILL interchange.

as to your specific question, i think it highly unlikely that a 71 trunk will fit on a prior year large car. the senior cars transitioned to a new B-body ( and larger, like C, D and E body cars ) platform in 1971.

1971 to 1976 large cars share MANY parts and pieces regardless of the specific GM make or model. but these cars are also the largest passenger cars GM ever put on the road, they're simply humongous.

if you have any serious hope for trunk lid interchange it's going to be from 1965-1970.

According to my Hollander, nothing interchanges with a '68 LeSabre.
