!947 Buick Roadmaster Wont shift into second gear .

It worked fine . Then one day backed out of drive way . Put into first , No problem . Then tried to shift into second would not go in . So I pushed in clutch , And tried again . So I used third . Then stopped at stop sign . Same deal . Good on first no second . Didn't want to force it . Something is jamming it up . Any Ideas would be appreciated . Thank You . John Caiati

I found the problem . It was the toggle spring extension . That goes to the shift leaver . It fell off . I rigged something for now . But it works .
