    350 Year Identification

I have a '68 Jeep with a 350. The code is milled of the deck.
The Engine serial number (behind the PS pump) is B2E07720.
Can someone tell me anything about this engine?
Where are the casting numbers on a 350?

So the casing number bit me when I saw it 1241748.
The intake seems to be original but I found a remanufactured sticker on the block behind the starter.
Would still love to put a year on the block.

I think there is a mistake in our 350 block casting numbers. I think your block number should be listed as 72-80. It is listed as 62-80 and we all know the 350 was not made until 68 and all the other casting numbers starting wit 124 started in the early 70s. Other then that, there is a production code visible between the exhaust ports on the top of the block on the right side that will tell us the year and configuration. It may have been removed if the deck was squared during the re-manufacture.

Something seems wrong with the partial vin you had behind the ps pump. There are not enough numbers at the end and B2E does not correspond to anything that decodes. Can you look at that that again and see if you missed anything or read it wrong? Sometimes the letters are stamped lightly and look like something else or are hard to see before or after others.

if it's originally a Jeep engine, i'm sure none of the Kaiser stamping codes match up to what Buick was using.
