Hey!!
I am new to the forum, and to restoration, so I need some advice. I have a 1966 Olds 425 Rocket and Turbo 400 tranny sitting around in my barn and have really been itching to do something with it. I found a 1966 Buick Wildcat that is in great shape for a good price, but the motor doesn't run because the main bearings are shot, according to the craigslist ad (it is a '66 Nailhead 445), but the tranny is good. The car is four door. I need to gather some more info on the car, and I will keep the thread posted once I call the guy selling it. I mostly want to know at this point if the swap is feasible. Would the motor mounts be the same on the Rocket than on the frame of the Buick? Just looking for thoughts and some general advice...
Thanks so much!
The engine will physically fit, but the mounts are different. If you can find an Olds B-body you can take the frame brackets off of that. Otherwise you will have to fab the brackets from scratch. The good news is that the rubber mounts are still reproed. There are two numbers because the stud location is different for left and right

Another way to do it, and possibly easier, would be to use A-body rubber mounts and frame brackets. The A-body rubber mount is #2261, which is the same for both sides, and these are also still reproed.
