    1950 Buick ID Tag

    Hi
I bought a 1950 Buick Roadmaster 76 S a few years ago. Now I am in the process of going on the road and found out that the Cowl-ID-Tag is missing. So I think about to re-produce the ID-Tag with the following information.
Can you please confirm that the following information (in black) is correct:

    Reference: http://www.teambuick.com/reference/years/50.php

    BUICK MOTOR DIVISION
    GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION
    FLINT, MICH.

    1950 MOD. 76-S = Sedanet Model
STYLE NO 50-4707 = Jetback sedanet (not sure for what figure 50 stands for? May 4747 only is correct for Roadmasters?)
BODY NO G 1967 = G = plant Michigan, 1967 = production number (not sure if 1950 Buick have the plant ID on the Body No as I tought this is indicated in the VIN?
TRIM NO 53 = leather, red
    PAINT NO 01 = black
TOP ACC. CIW = accessory code = C = Heater & Defroster, I = Radio & Antenna Set, W Group (Roadmasters have many options as standard)
    BODY BY FISHER

    Many thanks for your help!!!!

    STYLE NO 50-4707

    50 - Model year 1950
    4 - Buick Division
    7 - Series 70 Roadmaster
07 - Fisher Body code for the 2 door fastback style

    BODY NO G 1967

I am not sure about plant code G. If that is the code for the Fisher Body plant where the body was made, this is NOT the same as the assembly plant where the complete car was assembled. The assembly plant code is the one in the VIN.

"TOP" may have been used to indicate the top color and/or material on convertibles. This was definitely true in later years, but I don't know for certain if any top choices were actually offered in 1950.

You might be able to get more info on this point if you ask in the Decoding and Identification Forum.
