52 Special - Door lock parts

I am missing the door lock rods for both the front doors. I have checked a few places (Wheatbelt Buick and others) and no one seems to have them. Are there any interchangable years for this part? Could I go to a junkyard and get any late model manual lock rod and make it work?

The same body was used 51-53 on Specials and Oldsmobiles, so that's where I would look first.
