    SportWagon Skylight Repro Project

No, I知 not one of the hundreds of people searching for the elusive used skylights
    for 64-67 Sportwagons & Vistacruisers,
I知 actually planning to do something about it !!!
I am in discussions with an auto glass fabricator to actually produce the world痴 first reproductions.
Please correct me if I知 wrong, but these have never been reproduced by anyone, right?
Since the design and tooling cost will be enormous, more than several thousand dollars,
I need to know what the actual market is out there so I can cover expenses
and maybe even make a couple of bucks.
I would plan to sell them as sets of 4 only.
I will post on several forums asking who would be interested.
I would need to know that at least 50 sets could be sold fairly quickly because
I would have to have a hundred sets made in the first run.
Please reply if you're interested - no orders please, just need a headcount.
    Thanks,

    SportWagon Skylight Repro Project

This is ClassicCarParts just replying to myself - testing, testing, ha ha.
I'm really excited about this Skylight Project.
I really hope making reproduction skylights can keep some
great old cars from being sent to the crusher
just becasue their skylights are cracked or missing.
I am almost done with the restoration of my own '64 Skylark Wagon,
(that's before they named them SportWagons)
and the roof restoration alone took about six months.
I see long Parts Wanted lists for skylight glass
and really hope I can make a good product available for people.
I am not a business, just a guy hoping to fill a need.
Please reply to this thread if you would someday need this 64-67 glass.
    Thanks,,,, ClassicCarParts.net in Dallas

    SportWagon Skylight Project Update

    Hi TeamBuick community,
    It's me again, ClassicCarParts.
I now have THREE Auto Glass Manufacturers interested in the '64-67 Wagon Skylight project.
    There's nothing like a little competition !
There is a lot of design details to work out and of course costs for tooling.
I will pick the company who offers the highest quality and most accurate reproduction.
It's been over a week now since my first post
asking for a head count of folks interested in a set of four Skylights
and I'm a little disappointed that no one has replied with a hardy
"Oh yah, finally, I need those 4 skylights!" - not one person.
I guess I should repost this in the Classifieds Forum even though I don't have any product - yet.
Let's keep SportWagons and VistaCruisers out of the Crushers and back on the road.
At least respond with other places I can inquire - much appreciated.

I am not a member there, so can't tell you about their rules re: posting ads.
