    350 recommended upgrades?

Sorry in advance I'm sure this question has been asked several times, couldn't find much quickly scanning the forum other than the oil mods.
I want to upgrade my engine and give it more go, what kind of realistic power should I be expecting? A broad question I know but my budget for the engine is roughly 5-$6000. Is anywhere north of 350hp something I could expect to see? Please chime in people let me know what you guys did to get more gains in hp, what parts should I use, etc... I'm relatively new to engine modification so please explain what you guys did and why if possible, sorry about the hassle I just don't know what to go with.

I know a guy in Long Island experimented with a pressurized 350 & ended up with about 1250HP before noticing any block irregularities. These could have been taken care of with a front & rear engine plates. For 5 or 6K I think it's possible for 500Hp.
    Just my thoughts.

Hell 500hp would be awesome, I wanna try and make it a daily reliable driver, hence the reason for the efi upgrades, other than getting it bored and doing the oil mods any suggestions to where I should start?

Hell 500hp sounds good, where should I start though, other than a bore and oil mods?

Not to take anything away from this site as Bob does a GREAT job on this site. In my opinion you would be better served at V8Buick.com. It's free just as this site is but is much more focused on the '68-'72 Skylark's & GS's. This site is a great mixture site especially for the straight 8's as well as many other things, but one site can't be an answer to all.
    Again, just my opinion.
