    problem with my 68 riv

    i gotta question guys my 68 riv 430 motor has been totally rebuilt. but it runs hot im thinking timing but also not sure what the timing should be got it at 8 now. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated,
    . need to get it to the body shop cant its running hot. sipp

    430 timing

    . . . from the '68 Buick Riviera owners manual - 0* BTDC, (...with the distributor vacuum advance plugged).

    ok i should have said i changed some things the distributor is an MSD 8552, new camshaftwith ADV DUR 268 268, DUR@.050: 218, 218 LOBE SEP: 110.0, new high performance water pump, electric fans. kept the same crank, and bought the same pistons. you went by the book i may have to go outside of the original since ive changed so much. again thank you and HELP lol thanks guys
