    Water Pumps

I am getting ready to put a 425 in my 52 Super. I will be installing AC so I am looking at water pumps, I do not have a rebuildable core. Does anyone have recommendations? I have read about improvements in impeller designs. Does anyone know of these improvements being applied to Nailhead pumps?

Originally the A/C cars had a 5 blade impeller water pump with 3 groove pully's. These spun the water pump at 1.1 times engine RPM's. Non A/C cars had a 3 blade impeller with 2 groove pulley's & spun at .9 engine RPM's. Also the A/C version has a much larger bearing in the front hub to be able to take the extra loading of 2 belts pulling it to the right. I have new A/C, 5 blade pumps in stock, no core needed.

    Tom,
Are there any high volume pumps for the 322?

I know this is a few months old, however just wondering if one could put the 5 blade A/C unit on a non AC 364 for better flow? I am currently in the process of putting my 57 Roadmaster 364 back together and plan on eventually having A/C and thought it a good idea to install a 5 blade pump if I can get one and if it would fit. Of course the A/C units had a hub that was smaller in diameter and thus the increased rate of spin as noted above. But I would think that a 5 blade fan would move more water even at just .9 engine RPM as opposed to a 3 bladed fan at that same rate. So will this work for me?
    Thanks in Advance!
