Where it started out??? cowl tag decoding

[72 skylark GS convertible]

So, new to the site, looking to figure out where my 72 skylark GS convertible started it's life. I know it is a clone and does not have the original motor. Some help with the cowl tag would be nice, but teaching me where to look to decode the cowl tag myself would be nicer cowl tag reads:

Body plant = FL1 = Flint, MI

Body build date = 03A = third month, first week (March 1972, first week)

Top code = A = White
