I know its prolly been asked a few times but Ive searched for a clear answer and cant find it
How do you identify a ST300 trans? I have a 64 Lesabre and Im trying to figure out for sure what trans I have.... the pan has 14 bolts but from what Ive seen on pics of ST300's the pans all extend a lil under the modulator mine doesnt. I have attatched a few pics
Also the car had a 300 V8 in it that is spun rod and main bearings .... way too much $$$ to save so im looking at putting in a buick 350 I know I will have to reshape the pan and pickup to do this but I want to make sure that the buick 350 will bolt to whatever trans this is that I have.
And if this trans will bolt up to a buick 350 then what are the years of engines that will work early to mid 70's?
Thanks in advance for any infor and I do apologize if this has been asked a million times already lol

That looks like a normal ST300 to me. Compare your pan bolt pattern with the one here: http://cogpro.com/chapters/O-Turbine...ay0001_jpg.htm
This transmission has a standard BOP bellhousing, so any year Buick 350 will bolt up. That means 1968 till the end of production (around 1980-ish).
