'55 Special 4dr Rivi - Fuel tank sending unit GASKET

    Gents,

I'm cleaning out my gas tank and need to replace my gasket on the sending unit (Cork just broke all apart when i removed the unit). Though i have found them online for only 3 bucks, i just rather not pay the $10 in shipping to get to me. I know it's pennies, and I'll probably order it anyway...but..

By chance, is there another method in sealing the sending unit as opposed to using the rubber gasket?

    Thanks!

Go to your auto parts store and buy a 12" by 12" sheet of cork gasket material and make your own.
