    Unhappy Quadrajet Help

I just installed a rebuilt GS350 I added the comp cams 268h cam with 268 degree duration, 469 lift, as well as
lifters, springs timing chain gears etc, its been bored 30 over with TRW pistons and stage 1 intake. No other
mods were made to the heads except the springs. added msd coil and module. It will run very nice as long as I
hold it to 1000-1200 rpm but as soon as I let off the throttle it dies immediately no hesitation. I would like to keep the Quad but need to know what I did wrong or what I need to do. Thanks

when you say "hold it to 1000-1200 rpm" do you mean that it runs well at more open throttle? that you only have issues at low throttle positions?

then i would say that you need to turn the idle screw up.

you can also look in our reference section at the chassis manuals; that will provide all the info you need to service your Quadrajet.

When I start it it will only stay running if I hold the throttle open above 1000 rpm nice response at above that rpm no problems but go below 1000 and it dies immediately no sputtering whatsoever it just dies. At above 1000 I wont be able to hear the cam which was what I wanted (the lobe at idle)

Install a vacuum gauge and post the readings so we can help.

I will do that thanks, I did put a glass fuel filter on and noticed that at high rpm 1100 or more the glass tube stayed full but as soon as I drop the idle it barely shows any fuel in the tube, is it possible that the carb isn't getting enough fuel at the recommended idle of 550 rpm? if so is there a way to increase the flow to the carb?
Thanks again guys for your help.
