    1964 Buick 401/425 Motor

    Can anyone here advise me if the 401 motor is DIRECTLY repalceable by the 425 without alterations to anything?

    They are the same year for year externally and they share a crank. There is a different crank in both before 64.

    Post 401/425 Swap

    Thanks, that's a great help as I have located a 425 ready to go, or it's rebuild my 401. but I think the swap will be easier.
