A while back my clutch was squeakin when the pedal was at rest. I did a slight adjustment to the stretched cable and all was great and quite. Fast forward through many miles of trouble free driving and now when I push on my clutch I hear a metallic rubbing. If I remember the clutch on these 3 on the tree transmissions can be accessed by a panel and I vaguely remember reading about servicing them.... IS this a quick fix or am I looking at doing a whole clutch?
If you hear noise when the clutch pedal is depressed with the engine running, the first part to check would be the release bearing.
However, you completely lost me when you talked about a "stretched cable", because the stock linkage doesn't use a cable. If yours really does have a cable, could you please post a pic of it, or at least describe where it connects from/to?
Also, I am not sure what access panel you are asking about. If you remove the sheet metal cover on the bottom of the bellhousing, this will expose the clutch (and release bearing) for visual inspection, but there is very little you can actually service without performing further disassembly.
