thermal relay

have 50 Buick Special. having some thermal relay problems. headlights dont come on, have tail lites, parking lites, turn signals though... any ideas.

Do you have power to the dimmer swich?

On this old of a car - it may be completely worn out. Pull the headlight switch to the "ON" position and then see if you have power at one of the headlight bulbs. Make sure both bulbs are not burnt out - these will be 6 volt bulbs. I hope you find the trouble!! BluesBrothersBuicks]

Dimmer switch could be shot or no grounds under the hood at the terminal strips.

I think it's really the switch. check it carefully and see if it's the main cause of the prob. if not you should leave it to the pros.
