    fuel pump Question

I have a 1956 322 nailhead with the original fuel pump, I was told it was rebuilt. Anyone know what the pressure of one of these pumps is?

    Thanks, Jeff

    fuel pump.....

I would say , at the carb inlet, 5 to 7 psi.... a carb will work with as little as 3 psi if the volume is enough....

What about the fuel pressure of a 1966 425 nailhead with the original fuel pump?

    Fuel pressure,,,,

About the same,,, a carb can do with as little as 4 psi, if the volume is good,,,, I have in the past installed a fuel pressure regulator just ahead of the carb inlet to cut the pressure down.... but 5 to 7 psi is pretty much normal.... have seen as much as 8 to 10....but high pressures can overwhelm the needle and seat in the carb....
