Best way to ID year on a 350?

I have a 350 (# on block is 1241748 ) that I am assuming is 72 to 75 ish? from what I've found so far. points distributor. Large 73 cast in heads. Havent cleaned it off enough yet to get more #s (still have to bring it home). Picked it up at a storage giveaway, so no loss if it doesn't run but I'm hoping. Any quick and dirty ways to tell?
