Its a 264cu in V-8 in a 55 BUICK Special 4 door sedan
I take them off, remove the springs and use an oxy act set to free them up.

Knowing that it's a 264 my suggestion would be to just remove it & block/weld/braze up the holes. We don't use our cars the way they were meant to be like when they were new in ALL kinds of weather. They are mostly nice day cars & the exhaust heat going through the intake manifold is really not needed by us any longer. You will still have heat in the intake manifold to help the flashing of the fuel.

I got my Exhaust Manifold Valve to Freeup, had to use a Mapp gas torch to heat around the valve, got it so hot it looked like it was glowing white, use a large channel look to move the counter wieght then the valve started to move, then let it cooldown over night and sprayed with P B Blaster, now valve moves freely. Thanks to every one who helped.
Back in the day, working as a line mech. ,,, we would lubricate those things with ghraphite lock spray.....
I have been woking it back and forth and taking my time. I have so much else to work on this will be a slow piece.
Thankyou everybody
