    fan spacer

Can I use a fan spacer (3 3/8) long (off a 58-59) to replace my (1 5/8) original spacer on my 57 special as the fan blades seem to be to far back toward the motor which makes the blades half way out of the shroud. Is there any advantage putting the longer spacer on and getting the fan closer to the radiator.

I have done the same thing with my '55 Buick.
Just make sure that you have long enough bolts.
