Hey guys,
I have a '31 A coupe that i purchased a while back. incomplete but drivable. I want to replace the SBC 400ci with a Nailhead. The previous owner claims it has a BOP 350 trans. I haven't confirmed, but i didnt think a BOP trans bolted straight up to a SBC. (?)
Anyway, I want to put a Nailhead into the coupe. I am hoping to put in an overdrive auto trans. I have a rebuilt 700R4 sitting on the floor in my garage. Does anybody know if this trans will work? I'm assuming that if the BOP trans fits the SBC, then a Chev trans should fit a Buick engine. But I'm doubtful that would include the Nailhead. If all my assumptions are correct, does anyone know of a bellhousing adapter, etc, that would work?
Has anybody done anything like this? Any help at all would be very much appreciated....
This will help you with the BOP. You are right, the nailhead won't bolt up.
But if you are doing a trans conversion, I am sure you can get an adaptor for a 700R4. There are a couple of links in the link section for adaptor places, maybe someone can suggest another.
Good conversion
