Yeah, I think that's a shroud of some sort which enables the blower wheel to build pressure......
My heater doesn't blow very hard in my 1983 buick. I have fixed all the problems including vacuum doors and heater core? WHat else could be wrong? I did notice this piece is missing would this be a major problem[IMG][/IMG]

system needs to have no leaks, or air disipates through leak.
Other option is Voltage drop test circuit for high resistance.
Any blower will produce a fixed amount of air (cubic feet per minute). The perceived difference is in the velocity of the air leaving the blower. The smaller the discharge opening, the faster the air moves and the more it can be felt to be blowing. If you can't find the missing part, you should be able to make some sort of shroud the will speed up the blower discharge. It doesn't need to be fancy, just some sort of 'funnel' to speed up the blast of air.
I would guess the missing part is the problem but also make sure the motor turns the proper direction and that the wheel is for that direction of rotation.
