I heard that Buick offered both a straight eight and v8 in 53. Yes, no ??. If so, it seems that the v8 could be swapped into earlier straight 8 cars using stock frame adapters. Yes, no??? Will the later 364,401,425 engines bolt in to the earlier small v8's place with stock parts?
TKS for any help

In 1953 Buick used the 263 cubic inch I-8 in the Special, and a 322 cubic inch V-8 in the bigger cars. The engine bay in the Specials was much longer, as was the frame in front of the firewall. The later nailheads will fit into the 53-up V-8 cars, in many cases as straight bolt-ins. People do put V-8s in the earlier I-8 cars, and the nailheads are narrow, so make a good candidate. How easily it fits in depends on many things, but don't expect a bolt-in job.
