    300 Buick 1964

    Hello

Could anyone tell me if the heads on a 1964 300 have seals on the valve stems , I have two sets and one has them and one does not and the rebuild gasket kit does not have them ?

    thanks

I'm pretty sure they do. To get valve seals you'll need to buy them seperately.

    Valve Stems

    Hello Junior

Thanks for the response . i took the heads to my engine rebuilder and he said that there is not enoght room on the stem to accept a regular cup seal and that they use o rings or machine the guide down to accept a proper seal . i have used a o ring that he gave me and will try that

    thanks again

Is no problem. Your English is far better than my French.

gotta ask a question: are you SURE that set of heads do not have valve
    seats/seals.

I lost one while installing new valves, took a Buick Team member in California to offer me "just one" pair - otherwise I'dda had to buy a complete set: 16 pair....
    Thanks again Eric

    valve seals.....

It has been a long time since I rebuilt a 300 but seems like I remember them using the o-ring type seals.... I have also in the past used the soft neoprene umbrella seals on them from a ford engine.....
