I have located ,what is professed to be a Buick 455, The Guy that Placed the Adv. says the only # he can find on the Block is at the rear inside Bell housing area, and he says the # is 1241766. I cant find this # tied to anything Buick on the internet. I do See some simular #s. Does anyone have a Quick reference book,to Help ID this Block? Thanks in Advance.

I think all the 455 blocks are clearly stamped 455 on the rear of the block where the transmission bolts up.

The reference section on this site is usually pretty good with information.

    Thanks for the info.

This May be the time to start with a tomahawk block from T/A. And not look back with regrets. The Engine I was inquiring about was or is an Ebay Gem, in a car some guy bought, that he clearly states he knows nuthing about Buicks. Probably a Pontiac Motor or something. It Would be my Luck pontiac stamps 455 on the back theres too.
