Thread: block casting number

    block casting number

    hey im new here, i just picked up a 1970 cutlass supreme with a buick motor but i dont know what it is. i have 2 people look at it and 2 different answers. The number is on the back of the block it is 1382201. thanks for any help

    How many bolts in the valve cover? 5 or 6?

    its 6 the intake is around 12and half inch wide

    6 bolt valve covers is a 350.

    the 350 is a very wide engine with a stroke only ~.050" shorter than a Buick 455 so people often mistake it for a big block.

    ok thank you very much. do u kno how much power it is putting out. i dont know much about buick motors, if u had not noticed lol

    ok thank you very much, would you have an idea on what kind of power its putting out. im not good with buick motors if you had not noticed lol and another thing i know the cutlass isnt a buick but the guys on the cutlass forums arent so nice. i dont know what i have it has the 442 interior, i think but not the 442

    Other than telling you what the factory HP rating was when it was new, there is absolutely no way to tell you what kind if power an old well used possibly completely worn out engine will put out for horsepower.
