Buick casting numbers are 7 digit. see here:

i think you're posting date codes of some kind.

8F = this should be a plant code, but it isn't a valid one. the Trim Tag uses different city coding then the VIN does
if it actually reads "FB" it's probably a Flint car, i forget what "BF" is for.

00085 = sequential body number through the plant, this would be an insanely early production run car. well within the first month of production for the new year

Trim codes are three digit, see here:

it is the casting number not the date code, it reads 1381 (3 or 8) 24 it is cast below the 400 casting number, i cannot find that number in the reference guide on this site, bit of a mystery !!! can anyone shed any light on this?

it looks like the trim code is 168 for black interior, the 8 is hidden, but what does the 009241 9 0521 refer to

the 8F could well be a BF and the 116 could be a 11G which is the build date i guess

    it reads 1381 (3 or 8) 24

ah, i see what you mean. that is a 7 digit number.

    i see a '1381825' for the 430, i'll bet that 1381824 is the 1969 casting number for the 400.

can anyone shed any light on this?

casting number documentation for Buick's is very thin. we know there are some missing casting numbers for the big blocks but in comparison there is almost nothing for the Buick 350.

if you can verify your casting number we can have the admin add it too the list.

what does the 009241 9 0521 refer to

i would say it was an option list, but those normally include lette designations. so, i'm at a loss.

and the 116 could be a 11G which is the build date i guess

the build date code is the number of the month and a letter designation for the week of the month. as there are no more than 5 weeks in any month, i would suggest "11B" for a 2nd week of November build.
