It has the 300 engine and auto trans. I am 90% ready to buy this, but looking forward, if I want to add some power, the engine and 2 speed trans are not very common it seems.
Can I swap out engine and trans to a 400 and 3 speed auto? I mean, you can do anything you want, but I mean easily.
I imagine motor mounts and maybe cross member, but what about front suspension? New heavier springs?
What year engines will swap into that easiest?

Well, I didn't end up buying that particular car. For the money it had too much rust in it. Looking up under the dash, you could see where somebody welded in a piece around the window channel, but near there was a lot of rust and flaking metal. Multiple quarter sized and dime sized holes.
Also on the drivers door frame there was a line of rusted out metal extending up the bend where the door seal presses. That was about a 1/4 to 1/8inch wide.
The last big rust area was some of the frame work of the convertible top on the divers side. The quarter panel was solid, but the inner wall was rusted thru to where I could push a baseball thru, or reach my hand thru and touch the outer quarter panel.
Plus the whine from the rear end, the blinkers, and radio didn't work, etc etc, just seemed like a lipstick on a pig car and for $10k, not gonna happen.
Still looking for a nice ride, and I do like the 66-67 skylark/gs and the 70-71 gs.
This is a great forum and if I can score me a buick, I will be back regularly.
