1961 Buick Electra 225 Heater Core & Water Pump Problem

Just purchased a 1961 Buick Electra Convertible. Car has been stored for around 10 years. All original low miles original paint interior etc. Nice car. Heater Core is leaking & Water Pump is leaking.

Question 1. What is the difference between a water pump for a AC car and a car with non AC. My car has no AC but the only pump that I can order is for a car with AC. Is there a difference or just extra holes??

Question 2. Were can I find a new Heater Core??? I may just try and have mine repaired.

    '61 Electra water pump

    Beautiful car-
Napa online has both AC and non AC Water pumps listed and pictured so perhaps you can sort out the differences there. They are remfd. but I've had very good luck with them.
As far as heat core, I checked Classic Buicks and Buick Farm w/no luck.
You might try Cars Inc. in N.J. but everyone seems to start at '63 with those.
    Good luck,
    Steve

The only difference I can find in the waterpumps is the location of the outlets. The one for A/C allows for the positioning of the A/C pump. I have used both styles on my non-a/c car and just had to reroute the hoses slightly.

I had the same issue with the heater core for my 62 Invicta. I ended up going to a local radiator shop and having mine recored. The biggest issue was not the core, but the heater control valve that sits in the upper tank of the heater core. That was the difficult part to find. You should have one on hand before you remove the heater core. You should replace it every time your core is out.
    Best Regards,
    Ron
