    Manual transmission identification...

I Just got home with my latest catch - a 1958 364cui, when i picked it up i figured i probably will need a tranny too, so i snatched this one from another engine that stood next to the one i was about to take home.
I think that the engine the tranny was mounted on is a 1957 364, and i have been told it came from a GMC pickup???
Can somebody please tell me what transmission i got? - I know its a 3spd. O.D. and it is stamped 85 at the rear...

off hand I don,t know a place to go for parts, just take off the shift cover and check if it has any obvious damage, if not it may be ok to use. A T-85 is ok and especially an o,drive, will give you lots of gear choices. You may just need bearings, gears might be harder to find, I had one once and saved some o,drive parts.
