Im thinking that just one of those design flaws, they had to limit the window drop to avoid the door latching mechanism. a lot of cars in that era you couldn't wind the rear windows all the way down
I have a 77 Buick Electra 4 door. Does anyone know how to disable the rear window roll down limits? Is this something that could be as easy as setting a bolt or brackt to a different level or is this a full design built in?

You may be right. What I didn't think about before asking this question was the rear door does cut off sharply toward the hinge below the latch. There isn't enough physical space for it to drop all the way.
