Dear all
I have a Buick Special from 1957 and the vacuum pump for the windshield wiper is broken or only useful for a half "round". My mechanic has controlled the tubes and wires and thinks, that it is the vacuum pump. Are there somebody, who knows, if it is possible to repair the vacuum pump (what is normally the problem ?) or where I can buy a new or a repaired one.
Thank in advance.

Contact Mike at T/A Performance. he can rebuild the vacuum part of the pump as well as rebuild the oil pump part also.

A bad solution is applicable to almost every problem !
the other alternative is to fit an electric vacuum pump. This is what I have done to mine. You can mount it out of sight so you keep the look and opertion of the original wipers but save the problem of having to remove and repair the vacuum pump.
I have wired mine through a separate switch so it only runswhen the wipers are needed.

Peter
