Gents,
I need some serious help. I have a 64 Buick Electra with a Right Front turn signal that will not turn on. I thought it may of been the turn signal flasher so I replaced it. After I replaced it I tried the right turn signal and both the left front and right turn signals came on but they were very dim. I looked at the bulb and noticed that the small filament was the only one working. Then I tried the parking light and noticed that the right front one will not come on and the and the right turn signal on the dash stayed on. Any ideas as to what maybe going on? Any advise is greatly appreciated.. Thank you for your time.
I think the wires going to the turn/parking lights are blue and purple. there is a connector in the line. open the connection and using a volt meter, check to see if there is power to both; once when you have the lights on (that would provide steady power to one of the wires, and when the turn signal is on, intermittent on the other.
if that works, the recepticle has some rust innit that is grounding the bulb.
my Wildcat had same problem, lense let water in while travelling a long distance in near flood waters a few years ago, and then the Cat set for a couple years. I got a set of replacement recepticles from WheatbeltBuicks.
you can, of course, pull the recepticle and do a thorough cleaning - Im just lazy. the back IS sealed, PIA removing the wires without screwing something up.
