I think it is TAPerformance that has the adapter motor mounts for what you are doing. I was WAS going to drop a 455 into my 64 LeSabre vs the 300, but I changed my minddue to the $ of gas, and I want to drive about 5,000 miles before I give it to my daughter. I'd be in the poor house with the 455 + she would probably never drive it. I'm refreshing the 300, and see if it will do the 5,000 before i think about another engine.

what do you mean when you say "put the frame mount in"? are you bolting them up to the engine mounts to see where the engine wants to sit when it's bolted up to the trans?

if this is what you're up too don't forget, the big block has THREE holes on each side of the block. if you're using the front pair of holes, that would push the mounts too far forward in relation to the trans. use the rear pair of holes on each side and it will probably be good.

using the front holes puts the engine closer to the firewall and gives you better weight balance for handling purposes but you'd probably have to jigger with the trans cross member and some of the linkages to get everything slid back. and a spacer+longer bolts for the fan.

Yes, it will hang over, and looks kind of wrong, but not.

I think that's what you asked.

Look at buickperformance article on the sway. It will show what holes in frame to use.

if the car is set up for a 350, then you need to use the 455 frame mounts, which are located in a different position than the 350 mounts.
