if you've got an early straight 8, that may not be very helpful.
Alright guys, I need some help. A friend of mine is cleaning out his outbuildings and was getting rid of a buick straight eight motor that to me (a novice) looked too good to be thrown out with the scrap metal. Take a look at this pic and tell me what you guys think. I have several more pics, but the file size is too large I guess so I can email them to anybody interested. Just leave me an email address here and I will forward them to you. I know absolutely nothing about older cars, much less Buicks, but this is a find that is WAY too nice to go to the scrap yard. I hate to see it go to waste when I know good and well that there are people out there that woudl love to have it. As of now, it is still sitting where the pics were taken. It is off of the ground and the transmission is still atached. It has been sitting like it is shown for no telling how long. I have no idea of the year or anything. (like I said, I know nothing about these types of motors/cars). take a loook at the pics I have attached and let me know what I have and if anybody is interestred. To my knowledge, there is no information as to miles, car, year, ect. It is just a motor and transmission sitting in a barn. One more thing, this same guy has a 50 some (not real sure of the year) Buick that has new interior and is stripped of paint to metal (said it starts and drives!) that he is selling and would like to get $3000 for if anybody in interested in that as well.

Is it worth anything or is it any good to anybody? I hate to see it go to the scrap yard.
Hmmm...
If nobody here is interested, probably one of these is:

...or one of them can procure the engine to somebody who is.
You are right, would be a shame to scrap it.
A bad solution is applicable to almost every problem !
Don't send that old girl to the scrapyard! It looks like a 248 to me...Please, also try the buickclub.org website and maybe craigslist, along with the other places mentioned. It may take a little patience, but someone will take it away for more than scrap value...good luck!
