Does your car have A/C now? If not, I wouldn't ad it. If it does, keep it.
hey my name is cj and i would just like a second opinion or some reasons to go with or without air conditioning in my car because i have no problem doing the work but is it worth the money and time being a convertible car ? thanks

Not speaking of old cars, just convertibles in general. In addition to my 60 LeSabre which is a convertible without a/c, and my 2006 convertible Pontiac Solstice roadster with a/c, I would say the a/c is nice because you don't always want the top down and a/c is a good thing such as when you're all dressed up going to an event. I have even used it with the top down on hotter summer days....especially when stopped at a light or stuck in construction zones.
tanks for the feedback i have a 70 skylark but i am going to do a body off restoration as a GS so while i have everything apart i was thinking about adding a/c but i just dont know if its worth the money being a convertible
how well does it work in the summer time?
It works surprisingly well for me even with the top down. It all adds up to personal preference. If you have the car apart and you have access to the unit for it, why not? You don't have to use it all the time but it's there if you want it...
CJ, I have a complete A/C system if you need the components to add to yours.
