    Front Power Disc Brake Upgrade

I have a '68 GS 400 convertible that I want to convert to power disc brakes in front and was have a couple of questions/concerns.

    1. What back spacing is required to clear the calipers, etc.?

    2. How wide a wheel will work and not give me turning problems?

I was considering either 15" or 16" wheels, either 6 or 7 inches wide. Not sure what size tire, maybe 235X60.

    Thanks for any assistance.

I'm about to install the Scarebird disc conversion kit on my 64 LeSabre. The rotors/calipers I have are from a 73 Electra - I'm going to try to mount a set of alum rims with 225/75R15s. I don't think 16s would give you the turning radias you need.

I'll post the results here - I started another thread on the front conversion, check that out for some of your questions.
