Most of the time, where did you get the mounts from, and what what did you take off?
Help--I have installed new body mounts on my '66 Special Deluxe. The rubber mounts were put in between the body and frame. A local mechanic is telling me that there should also be rubber bushings under the frame. In other words---body, bushing, frame, bushing. Of course this is all held together with bolt, washer, and nut. Can anyone tell me if this is true?? Thanks, Mike

Yes your local mechanic is correct. Without a bushing on each side of the frame the body is not completely isolated because the bolt is metal on metal and is a direct link to the body steel where it threads into.
A rubber bushing between the bolt and frame gives you 100% isolation as it was from the factory. The bolt tightens against the rubber instead of the frame allowing vibration and movement dampening.
dont forget to make sure you have a ground strap between the battery and the body sheetmetal.
