wanna put some wheels on my Buick

I've got a 62 Buick duece and a Quarter 2dr coupe. I wanna put some updated wheels on it. maybe 18's? I'm gonna drop the rearend a few inches.and the front an inch or two. How do I find out what will fit on my car?

Start with this one from the reference section:

62 buick duece?? and a quarter(1925?) 2dr, what are you saying?

If you want more responses, it would help if you spoke in words we all understand. I don't know what a 62 duece is or a quarter 2 dr, is that 1925 Buick?

    Cons:
Putting 18 in. wheels on any 62 Buick, in my opinion will need so many modifications and adjustments to the suspension and wheel area.

You will buy these expensive wheels and tires and find that they rub when you turn, causing damage to tires and vehicle.

The ride will be hard, you will hear and feel every road bump.

1962 parts aren't easily found, have you thought of what to do if you damage parts and have to replace them.

I think a SUV, pickup truck might be better suited for 18 in. wheels.

    Duce and a quarter

A duce and a quarter is 225, I never heard that term before. I never knew Buick called their 62 Electra Coupe a duce and a quarter, but it's fact! I just read it. Went to Google and typed it in. For better words, it's an Electra 225.

Originally it was called a Deuce & a 1/4 because it was 225" long. It's just an Electra 225.

    Late to the party

I'm running a 68 Riviera put 8.5 wide 20" dia wheels in the back and matching style 8.5x18s in the front used "1/2 offset" 5 bolt 5in center wheels designed for a 1/2 T Chevy P/U.
run 245/45 tires and nothing rubs but it doesn't ride like a Buick any more. Turns like a sports car though and all the kids give gramps a thumbs up.
