    need to identify my engine

    i have a buick small block with 6 bolt valve covers and distrubutor in the front leaning to the left and i am trying to identify this engine it has a two barrel carb and the intake casting # is 1249167 can any one help me

    The intake is from a 75 Buick 350/2bbl.

    It was in your truck? Interesting. Is it running? What are you trying to do?

    6 bolt valve covers and distrubutor in the front leaning to the left


    this is specific to the Buick 350.

    see if you can read the two letter engine code on the face of the block between the #1 and #3 spark plugs. that will tell you year and power level.

    ther is 026 stamped on the block between #1&#3 spark plug and i can not find anything that matches this

    it's not what we're looking for. we're looking for something like "PO" or "ZP". try cleaning the head and looking above the numbers. the letters on my "SP" are so widely separated that you wouldn't think they were associated with each other if you didn't know better.
